The Center for Research in Extreme Scale Technologies (CREST) is the newest research center affiliated with the Pervasive Technology Institute. The mission of CREST is to transform dynamic data-driven computing through the development and application of revolutionary high-performance computing platforms.

CREST’s goal is to become a national leader in the field of high-capability graph computing systems and applications. CREST scientists are working to create a research and development program to enable efficient scalable dynamic graph computing and its limitless potential applications in science, commerce, and defense-related fields. In addition, CREST is developing key applications and libraries to demonstrate and facilitate advanced programming methodologies. CREST’s current and future initiatives focus on graph processing, PXGL, runtime software, programming interfaces, sponsorship, applications, concentration of resources, and curriculum development.
