Manager, High Performance Systems
David Hancock is the group manager for the Research Technologies High
Performance Systems team and has been at IU since 1998. The High
Performance Systems group is responsible for managing IU's local and
national HPC resources, portions of IU's research storage environment,
and hosting research databases. Hancock currently serves as the Vice
President for both the IBM HPC User Group (SPXXL) and the Cray User
Group with program and conference planning responsibilities in both
organizations. Hancock leads the NSF-funded FutureGrid systems working
group and is a senior personnel on the award. Hancock manages IU staff
with positions in the NSF-funded XSEDE project related to operations and
security. Hancock is also senior personnel on the NSF-funded awards for
PolarGrid as well as the Science and Technology Center for the Center
for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets.
