Effective Tuesday, February 3, following maintenance, three
significant changes have been made on Big Red:
1. There is now a per-user limit of 1024 jobs in the LoadLeveler
batch system. This limit spans queues and applies to jobs of any
state (Running, Idle, Hold, etc). Once the limit is reached,
subsequent job submissions will be rejected until the user is once
more under the 1024 job limit. All previous queue restrictions
remain unchanged (e.g. 16 running jobs, 32 nodes in the LONG queue,
etc).
2. There is a 24-hour CPU time limit on all user processes running
on the interactive nodes of Big Red. Please note, this does not
effect jobs submitted to the batch system, only jobs run
interactively on nodes b509-b512.
3. LoadLeveler job start email notification has been enabled on Big
Red. Add either of the following to your submit script to receive
notifications on job start:
# @ notification = start
# @ notification = always
